TCM can maximise your chances of conceiving whether naturally or combined with an assisted fertility conception programme. Even the most sophisticated assisted conception techniques can benefit from a helping hand, whatever the nature of your fertility problems.

At The Zhai Clinic, three quarters of our pregnancies have been conceived naturally. The programmes below are designed for patients who would like to seek help to improve their chances of success with their forthcoming assisted fertility.

All treatment programmes aim to improve the quality of a woman’s egg and men’s sperm as well as improving the environment of the female reproductive system in order to encourage  fertilisation and implantation. Since it normally takes time for a patient to benefit from Traditional Chinese Medicine, we recommend starting this treatment before you embark on your assisted fertility programme.

This is a family planning programme and is designed for couples who are planning for a family or trying for a pregnancy. The programme includes:

For women -

- Basic line hormone tests (FSH, LH, Oestradiol, Prolactin, Anti-Mullerian hormone, Haematology and Biochemistry).

- Pelvic ultrasound scan.

- Fallopian tubal patency test.

For men -

- Semen Analysis.

Further investigations will be recommended according to the individual cases as necessary.

This programme is designed for women who have prearranged their assisted fertility treatment and wish to optimise their chances of success on the first attempt or if they have failed to conceive with assisted fertility treatment in the past.

Comprising  of twelve weeks of herbal medicine and 6 sessions of acupuncture aiming to improve abdominal blood flow and egg quality.

A programme designed for women who have completed a twelve week preparatory programme of TCM and wish to have continued support during their assisted fertility treatment. The three sessions of acupuncture focus on optimising your response to the FSH stimulation and relaxing you during IVF, as well as improving the blood flow for implantation.

Although sperm may take up to 100 days to develop and mature, those men who do not have a severe sperm production problem may benefit from Eight Weeks Chinese Herbal Booster Preparation Programme. This programme aims to optimise your sperm quality, which will contribute to creating a healthy embryo.

This programme includes a free assessment when you come to your partner's appointment.

This Twelve Week herbal medication programme is suitable for men who may have been diagnosed to have a low sperm count, low motility, or simply high morphology or high sperm DNA fragmentation. The programme aims to improve your sperm quantity and quality to contribute to a healthy embryo with your forthcoming assisted fertility treatment.

The therapeutic quality of Chinese herbs is the beauty of TCM treatment, but we have designed this programme for those who are unable to take the herbal medication. The weekly acupuncture sessions endeavour to improve general wellbeing and blood flow, which will contribute to the reproductive system to maximise your chances of success with assisted fertility treatment.

Designed for those who have completed our TCM treatment and are ready to combine with some form of assisted fertility to speed up the process of achieving a pregnancy. This procedure will be carried out in conjunction with London Fertility Centre.
