Your First Appointment
Your first consultation is with Xiao-Ping Zhai. She’ll discuss your medical history, any gynaecological investigations or fertility treatments you may have had, as well as your general health. It would be helpful if you could bring the results of any investigations and treatment reports with you.
As Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners we also use our sense of hearing, sight, touch and smell to build up a clearer picture. We’ll note the appearance of an individual’s skin, tongue, pulse and general appearance and possibly how a person, speaks and smells.
Should you decide to go ahead and embark on a treatment programme, you’ll find it wonderfully stress-free. Traditional Chinese Medicine fits easily into a normal daily routine and can easily be adapted so that you can continue treatment if you need to leave home.
Starting Your Treatment
Before starting your treatment, we recommend that you have a haematology and biochemistry blood test, which we can organise for you. Once we’ve received your results, you can then start your Chinese herbal medicine.
Once you’ve had the test, please call us as soon as possible so we can order you 2-3 weeks of herbal medication to take before your next appointment. If there’s a delay in receiving blood test results, you’ll need to make an appointment where you’ll receive acupuncture and herbal medicine on the same day.
