The Zhai Clinic is led by Xiao-Ping Zhai, Doctor in Traditional Chinese Medicine and our founding clinician. Each member of our clinical team is a qualified practitioner in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience.
Xiao-Ping Zhai is the only fertility expert in the UK who combines Western medical training with TCM. Dr Zhai first qualified and practised as a paediatrician in Goungzhou, China, and later studied TCM at Guangzhou TCM University. She has devoted the majority of her career to promoting research on the role of TCM in reproductive medicine.
Dr Zhai has specialised in reproductive TCM for more than 25 years, garnering much praise from patients and physicians for her work and dedication. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, a Lifetime Honoured fellow of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK (ATCM), and a member of the British Fertility Society. In addition, she has been voted one of Britain’s 225 Best Private Doctors by Tatler magazine and in the top 10 of Top Santé magazine’s 100 Hottest Health Gurus in Female and Reproductive Health.
Dr Zhai’s work has attracted widespread journalistic interest. She regularly contributes to professional journals and has been featured on radio and television, and in national newspapers and magazines.
Her book, How to Get Pregnant (Hamlyn/Octopus), was published in June 2012 and is available to buy on Amazon and at major bookshops.
Yonggang Han started his medical career in 1995 and has more than 19 years of clinical experience. He obtained his TCM Bachelor’s Degree in 2001 and gained his PhD degree in Clinical Study on TCM from the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2008. During his TCM career, he has published 13 academic papers and nine medical monographs. He is a member of The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK (ATCM).
Kieran Howse is a Senior TCM Practitioner who developed an interest in TCM through his study of Eastern philosophy. He graduated from the five-year course of TCM at Middlesex University in 2007, which partnered with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree after training at the Asante Academy in London and Xiyuan Hospital in Beijing. He is a member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK (ATCM).
Wenwen Chang is a TCM Practitioner and Clinical Coordinator who obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in TCM from Hubei Traditional Chinese Medicine University, China in 2008, and gained her MSC degree with Merit at Middlesex University, London in 2009. She is a member of The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture UK (ATCM).
